Artist statement

I believe we have far more in common than we don’t. Despite specific circumstances, each of us are intimate with emotions that make us human: love, pain, grief, etc. Through these conditions our humanity connects us like living tissue and renders us seen.

Rooted in the queer Caribbean voice and perspective, my work challenges notions of distance with home, and difference with community through poetry, prose and sound. In resurfacing our shared lives I ask who we might be should we dare to embrace each other, not as strangers, but as long lost friends?
